Brian shoots himself....

I got a call about 12:30 this afternoon from Brian....he told me to meet him at the local insta care because he had pulled a nail out of his hand minutes before. It was a 16" penny nail, the gun misfired and went into his hand just below his left index finger. He is pretty sure that it hit the bone and deflected into the tendons and muscles in his palm. Out of instant reflex he pulled it out and had his employee drive him to the insta care. We are soooooo blessed because had there been more force with the gun or it had been closer to his hand it could have shattered the bone rather than just been deflected. We are so grateful for the minimal damage not something more. He has been in a lot of pain due to where the nail hit his muscles and tendons but not to worry the doctor gave him some drugs to help with the pain. Brian is loving his loritabs and getting over anxious just sitting on the couch but he will be back to work tomorrow.

Karen's Baby Shower

This past weekend I gave Brian's cousin a baby shower. She was expecting her first baby girl. There were friends and family who came. As they arrived we placed a binki(that I made) around their neck and they could not say the word cute or someone else could steal their binki. It was a really fun game that kept you on your toes. We had a light lunch. We served chicken salad sandwiches, pasta salad, chips, gape clusters, olives, pink lemonade, pink chocolate covered pretzels, brownies and on the way out a homemade sucker. It was so great to see Karen shine with all the love that surrounded her. We are so excited for you! Babies are such a sweet miracle.

St. Patrick's Day

For St. Patrick's Day we leave our shoes out the night before along with a trap. If we are "lucky" the leprachaun will leave treats in our shoes. This year he left footprints and streamers all over the house and he colored our milk green. And of course he filled our shoes. The kids were very aware of the holiday and they picked green shirts and socks to wear. As well as the leprachaun left green beads for everyone too.

Hunter's Birthday

This past Saturday was Hunter's birthday. We had family come in town to help us celebrate. We went to a place called Pirate's Island for dinner and let the kids play games. We had pizza and rootbeer and enjoyed watching the kids play. Then we went and watched Hunter's soccer game. The next morning we had a party with cousins and friends at the park. We did dinosaur digging, making dinosaurs out of playdough, eating dinosaur bones and a huge cake. It is the first time that I had a cake made for a party. The gal that made it for us does cake decorating out of her home and she did an amazing job. It was a three layer chocolate cake, with a marshmellow creme and graham cracker crumb filling. On one half was birthday wishes for my moms 50th birthday and on the other half was a dinosaur theme. It was soo cool and it weighed at least 30lbs. It was so yummy and we enjoyed every bite. Thanks Becky!! Hunter is now the exact same age as Kenna for the next 5 weeks. I think they are starting to get the age thing a little because they love telling people how old they are. People always looks to me for reassurance that they are indeed the same age...and I always smile and concur wiht them and await the strangers reaction. Hunter is growing by leaps and bounds. Even though he always the smallest in size he is always the biggest in heart. He is so smart and is well beyond his peers. Hunter we love you and are so glad that you are part of our family.

www.monthly-memories.com and to see more layouts that will be sold separately go to

I know you busy moms will love this.

Pay it Forward!!

Here is how it works-the 1st 3 people to leave a comment on this post will recieve a little gift from me at some point during the year. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well, so before you leave your comment here write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going. Then come back and let me know you are going to play and sometime when you least expect it you'll receive a little gift from me. (I don't guarantee that you'll love it, but it will be from the heart :) Hope you'll come and play!
